Mind Flux

An AI-powered mental health tool that transforms cognitive clutter into a soothing visual experience, helping users release uncontrollable anxieties through Stoic-inspired interactions.

Role: Solo Founder & Product Builder Development: Built using an AI-first Vibe coding workflow (Cursor + LLMs) to bridge the gap between high-fidelity design and functional code.

1. The Vision

Mind Flux is a "calm-tech" mental health application designed to function as an "external hard drive" for the human brain. Grounded in the Stoic philosophy of "Dichotomy of Control," it helps users navigate high-bandwidth environments by separating mental clutter from actionable clarity.

  • Objective: To move users from a state of cognitive overload to centered focus through AI-driven mental triage.

  • Core Philosophy: Stoic Rationality + Visual ASMR for psychological grounding.

  • Development: Built using an AI-first Vibecoding workflow (Cursor + LLMs) to bridge the gap between high-fidelity design and functional code.

2. The Problem: Cognitive "Noise"

High-functioning professionals and parents often experience "Mental Redline"—a state where valid tasks and irrational anxieties merge into an overwhelming burden.

  • Anxiety of Loss: The fear of losing a fleeting thought leads to constant mental hyper-vigilance.

  • Decision Fatigue: Traditional to-do lists treat every input with equal weight, forcing the user to expend more energy on categorization.

  • Internal Friction: Without a system to "let go" of uncontrollable worries, users remain in a state of chronic exhaustion.

3. Solution & Core Modules

I. The Nebula (The Mind Dump)

A zero-friction portal designed to capture the "stream of consciousness" without judgment.

  • Zero-Friction UX: A singular interface that accepts voice or text in one tap, requiring no upfront tagging.

  • Visual Metaphor: Thoughts appear as floating, fluid bubbles in a nebula-like space, mirroring the organic "flux" of the mind.

II. The Filter (Let Them vs. Let Me)

This module provides a visual, physical interaction for psychological relief based on the "Dichotomy of Control."

  • Let Them (Release): Users drag uncontrollable anxieties into a "Release Zone," where they dissolve with a satisfying visual ASMR effect.

  • Let Me (Action): Controllable tasks are dragged into the "Action Zone," where they gain weight and clarity.

III. Priority Visualization

  • Visual Hierarchy: AI-processed "Let Me" actions are organized by visual weight, directing focus to what truly matters.

  • Context-Aware Focus: The system intelligently suppresses work-related items during personal time to prevent cognitive spillover.

4. Technical Impact: Designing for "The Vibe"

As a UX designer, I leveraged Vibecoding to ensure the app's feel was as therapeutic as its function:

  • AI-First Prototyping: Iterated on fluid physics and organic UI behaviors using LLMs to ensure the interaction felt grounding rather than rigid.

  • Empathetic Data: Used personal research to determine that the act of offloading provides more immediate relief than the utility of the list itself.
